CT Scan to 3-D Drawings

Project Overview

We were approached by a client to convert high-resolution CT scan data into detailed 3D CAD models for use in medical product development and biomechanical research. The objective was to reconstruct accurate geometries of internal anatomical structures and convert them into engineering-grade 3D files compatible with modelling, analysis, and manufacturing workflows. This project required a high degree of technical accuracy, clean geometry, and biological fidelity, and it played a critical role in developing patient-specific implants and surgical planning tools.

What We Delivered

Conversion of DICOM Images to 3D STL Models
Using advanced segmentation tools and medical imaging software, we extracted bone and tissue structures from raw CT scan data.

Surface Optimization & Mesh Refinement
Cleaned up STL meshes to eliminate noise and artefacts, ensuring smooth contours and manufactural geometry.

Solid CAD Modelling
Converted STL into parametric CAD models (STEP, IGES, or native formats), suitable for 3D printing, CNC machining, or simulation.

Multi-format Output
